Benefit supper for Vassalboro fire victims Saturday
VASSALBORO A benefit supper and raffle is planned Saturday for a Vassalboro couple who lost their home to a fire last month. Evans and Heather Lister saw their home destroyed in a Nov. 10 blaze that also claimed the life of one of their two cats. It was really bad, said Lori Fowle, an older sister of Evans Lister, and the house was actually hauled off a week ago, and they will be rebuilding in the spring. Fowle said her brother had insurance, but not enough to cover the full cost of replacing the home and belongings inside the house. The benefit supper, featuring spaghetti and beans and a baked goods table, will run from 1 to 7 p.m. at the North Vassalboro Fire Station on Route 32. Admission is $5 per person with children 8 and younger free.
